Pumpkin Patch

Today we took advantage of the wonderful weather and went to the pumpkin patch. Connor loves reading his book where Biscuit the dog goes to the pumpkin patch. He was very excited to see all the pumpkins (and even one dog, although it definately wasn't Biscuit).

Connor was kissing the pumpkins-
This is the closest we got to getting Connor to stand still by the growth chart. I hope everyone enjoys seeing that Colin is right at 6 ft.
Connor got to see the goats. He looks very brave here but when it came time to feed the goats he was much more comfortable just watching mom and dad feed them.
Look at the pigs, but we didn't pet or feed them- they bite!
Ride on a hayride with mom and dad-
Ride the cow train with mom (and yes, it was just as comfortable as it looks)-
Have dad pull me around in the wagon-
Go through the corn maze-Whew- after all that a nap sure sounds good!

But not before I get my own pumpkin to hold on the ride home!

The "Jayhawk trick"

Maybe this is cute enough to make everyone laugh and take some of the sting out of last night's game (ignore the tall grass, isn't it late in the year to still be mowing?) -

Homecoming (Last Week)

Many of you have already seen one of these pictures since it was in the Daily Guide last week. Connor went with mom to some Homecoming activities last week and got caught by the paparazi. Actually, our friend Chris was there taking pictures and she took a bunch of Connor playing around on the turf, the track and with the tiger.

This expensive turf sure is fun to play on!
Come here Tiger, come here....
Oh, what a silly tiger.
The famous picture featured in The Daily Guide, high five tiger-

And we gently pet the tiger's nose....Mom's job rocks- she gets to work with this Tiger every day?

Now Tiger, get me!

Connor's Baptism

Here are a few pictures from Connor's baptism two weeks ago. He was baptized in the same church his mom was- the Fortuna United Methodist Church. It's a very small church (Doug was very impressed by the numbers from the Sunday School sign). The service was beautiful and very special since all 4 grandparents and his great-grandma were able to be there along with the church family that helped raise his mom.

More Football

MU had a run of several home games in a row and Connor finally got to attend two of them (okay, maybe not two full games-- between the score and weather we got out of there pretty early both times).
Here he is, the center of attention during the best part of the day- tailgating!
Oh and it gets even better when the golden girls came by to see hi. He even did his "Jayhawk" trick for them. They were very impressed and he was very pleased to be getting their attention. In fact he had lipstick kisses on his face after this-what a life!
Oh look- mom has a pom pon now. Hmmmmm......but it's not as fun without the pretty young girls in the shiny outfits!
As you can tell by the sky- the first game was pretty dreary and wet. Thank goodness they had such a big lead that we could leave right before half and go enjoy lunch inside at Bambinos!
This is Connor during the pre-game. He's done this at both games. Since he absolutely refuses to sleep in the car he is exhausted by game time. He has slept through pre-game both times and wakes up at the end of the first quarter. Sleeps through the band, cheers, cannon and everything.
I've seen lots of others that look like this at the game but they are usually frat boys that have overdone it a bit at the tailgate (in fact this picture reminds me of the first time Colin met Carter and his friend Clayton at an MU game)!
On the way home- of course no nap- just a crazy game of peek-a-boo, MU style of course.

And one picture from the second game- a VERY HOT game- but the heat didn't stop Connor from tailgating. Mmmmmmm beef stick.

Catch up!

I know....it's been a long time since the last post. What can I say? School has started!
I've tried to catch up below.
Connor enjoyed his first MU football game. The MU/IL Arch Rivalry game in St. Louis. He had a great time and stayed up way past his bedtime. Go Tigers!

Before we left we had a fashion show of our MU gear-

Here is a little taste of Connor on the go tonight-
What's better than a phone, oh yeah- two phones!

Poor Tiger, being told to "get me." The chase is on and Tiger's on the run as well. Connor has decided that Tiger really needs to eat and drink all of his plastic food toys and should also play his games of "chase." The video is a little dark but I think you can hear the bossing.

Connor's "New" Toys

It's been Christmas in August for Connor. First mom bought some outdoor summer toys on clearance and what we thought would be a fun swimming pool has turned out to be an awesome indoor ball pit! Then we found some toys that he got for Christmas but were too old for him at that time. And finally- jackpot- our friend Virginia loaned us the horse which Connor loves to ride.
All of this new loot has mean that we now have a play room in the basement! We had a space that we thought was pretty useless but has turned out perfect for Connor's toys. What a lucky boy-
Connor just learned to say "cheese" for the camera-

The wheels on the bus go round and round.......

Yee haw!

We bought this tunnel for Christmas and Connor has loved it ever since he could crawl through it! He runs laps through the tunnel (which is wonderful for wearing him out before bed- we have a friend that after witnessing this said everyone with a kid needs a tunnel- we agree). He's even gotten his mom and nana to go through after him- still trying to talk daddy into it!
Connor loves to talk- and to repeat what he hears! Here he is telling mom how much he loves her, that is until the ball pit distracts him from the conversation.
